My Response to One of My Detractors

I have been a member of a Internet discussion group call Grace Centered Forum and I am the sole Christian astronomer member who voices my lucid and intelligent views about Christ's statements recorded in Luke 21:25a, Matthew 24:29-30a, & Matthew 24:36a. In spite of this, I am shouted down by these non-astronomer members and they continue to be mired in their beliefs about the approaching End Times scenario of the Antichrist, Armageddon, Seven Years of Tribulation, Rapture, Mark of the Beast, '666', etc., etc., etc. prior to Christ's return to earth that I assure them is a myth and is a departure from reality.

Today, I had this response to one of my detractors, a woman who goes by the moniker, kensington: Quote by Kensington: "And actually, the only beginning requirement to be an End Times Prophet would be to be called out and anointed by God. NOT knowing some dateline."

My response:

kensington, you do not really know me. How can you make the assumption that I have not been "called out and anointed by God"? On this point, I am reminded of my visit in 1994 with a Catholic priest at the Newman Center on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia, Missouri (where I earned my B.S. in agricultural engineering in 1976 with a 3.80 cumulative G.P.A. for all four years). By this time, my Matthew 24:29-30a prophecy cards had been in existence for two years and I gave this priest one of my prophecy cards and gave him a short explanation of it.

I then asked him, "If you had a prophecy, what do you think that you would do?"

This priest gave me a rather quizzical look on his face and replied, "I'd pray about it?"

I exclaimed very loudly, "NO!!! You check the Book of Revelation to see what's supposed to happen!!!" and I laughed very hard. I then walked him through the process of my discovery and after I had finished, he and I just had a smile on both of our faces. I then pointed out to this priest, "You know, when Jesus lived, He didn't have the halo that He is portrayed with in today's portraits of Him."

And the priest replied, "No, and John the Baptist didn't either."

  And I replied, "That's right. That's right."
